Main Contractor: BAM
Project Brief: Flood Alleviation for the River Aire
Skip Chosen to Fulfill The Task: Charlie
In 2015 at Crown point in Leeds, the river Aire flooded causing extensive damage, disruption and and economic cost to the regional economy.
BAM were awarded the contract for the flood alleviation project which is now in it’s second phase.
BAM had seen the Gecko skip and chose it as the best method for loading their barges. The barges took spoil from the coffer dam downstream to a stockpile where it is dried out and then used as fill in local developments.
BAM were very impressed with the skip and will be using it again.
