Project Brief: Upgrade of Bank Station
Skip Chosen to Fulfill The Task: Ivor
WORKING DEEP BELOW CANNON STREET ON BANK STATION UPGRADE
After navigating a labyrinth of staircases and tunnels, and passing through the old ‘King William’ underground station that closed back in early 1900 …..(YES…. 118yrs ago!!!!!!) we have a 2M³ Gecko Skip shifting spoil. This skip is working on an overhead monorail crane.
Bank station upgrade is a fascinating project.
NOTE: For interest sake….King William station was only in operation for less than 10 years between 18th December 1890 & 24th February 1900. The station closed due to its inefficiency but was used as an Air Raid Shelter during WW2.
